OAU Management Releases Statement on Power Outage on Campus

As a result of the black out on OAU campus since the morning of 11th June, 2021 which is said to disrupt the activities of students on OAU campus, Obafemi Awolowo University management released a statement on the power outage.

The special release was made to the public on June 11th, 2021. It goes thus:

Power Outage on OAU campus

This to inform the University community that the power outage experienced from the morning of 11th June, 2021 was due to the windstorm that accompany the rain that fell in the early hours of the morning. The windstorm damaged seven spans of 33KV line at the Crown land area of Ajebandele. It also destroyed fourteen high tension poles with the feeds that supplied electricity to OAU Campus. The replacement of the poles is in progress.

We regret any inconvenience this might have caused.
