Share

Drug Free Club (DFC) is a non-profit organization whose goal is to reduce the rate of drug abuse and propagate the gospel of drug usage across the country.

The club is a subsidiary of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), founded in the year 1998.

DFC OAU chapter has existed for 24years and has been propagating the gospel of drug usage and abuse across every secondary schools in Ile-Ife, as it’s believed that you can catch them young before they get exposed to drug and its abuse.

Under drug free club, there are different units, which are: Editorial unit, Intelligence unit and the Outreach unit.

Drug free club Obafemi Awolowo University just broke record as they successfully inducted 66 new members. For a club everyone thinks is under pharmacy and only for pharmacy students, this is something huge. Different students from different departments.

The induction ceremony held on the 12th day of March at HSLT C. The theme for the induction was
Drug Abuse Pandemic: Rising To The Challenges From the 21st Century.
The key speakers was Dr Abiodun Esan (Psychiatrist from the department of mental health) and Doctor Yetunde Ofoha (Head of Drug demand reduction unit NDLEA, Oshogbo).

With this large number of inductees, I’m sure Ile-Ife and Osun state is ready to propagate the gospel of drug use and Abuse.
