Afe Babalola University Surpasses Convenant, OAU and UI To Be Nigeria’s Best University

According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) is Nigeria’s top university and one of the world’s top 400.
At the top of the list was ABUAD, which is only 12 years old, followed by Covenant University and the University of Ibadan.
Tunde Olofintila, the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, made the announcement to the media in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria, on Sunday

 

“ABUAD named Nigeria’s best university and one of the world’s best 400,” reads the statement. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, which are highly regarded by students, educators, governments and industry experts all over the world, they aim to “help the world’s universities achieve excellence” by looking at performance indicators that assess an institution’s performance in four key areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and an international perspective This firm is built on 10 million datapoints from 2,500 institutions in 93 countries, unrivaled news, analysis, and intelligence, and a 50-year relationship of trust with colleges. Over 1,600 universities were included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022, making them the most comprehensive university rankings to date Over 108 million citations were analyzed from more than 14.4 million scholarly papers and nearly 22,000 researchers were surveyed for this year’s ranking. There were more than 2,100 institutions that provided data for our study.

There are 99 private universities in Nigeria with an Alper-Doger Scientific Index ranking of the “Best Research University” and 197 public and private universities in Nigeria with an Alper-Doger Scientific Index ranking of the “Best Research University” in July 2021 On the website of The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the good news was announced.

A letter dated April 27, 2022, and headlined “2022 THE Impact Rankings” by Prof. Peter Okebukola, a known advocate for quality and functional education, was sent to the NUC Executive Secretary on April 27, 2022.” The 2022 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (measured against the SDGs) were revealed today,” Okebukola wrote in a letter to Nigerian university vice chancellors. Afe Babalola University, Covenant University, and the University of Ibadan round up the top three schools. Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed of the Nigerian University Council (NUC) congratulates the universities and urges them to work hard so that many more Nigerian institutions of higher learning can join the top 200 in the coming years. Nigeria Universities Ranking Advisory Committee (NURAC): “By our strategic plan 2022-2030, we will engage with all universities in the system to guarantee that we are not a pushover on global league tables from 2023.” NURAC.

Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, the University’s Ag. Vice-Chancellor, was overjoyed when informed of the good news, and he attributed the university’s success to the support it has received from various stakeholders, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and others.

Since its Academic works began on Monday, January 4, 2010, Olarinde was particularly pleased that people and organizations outside Nigeria are following ABUAD’s achievements with keen interest, which has institutionalized quality and functional education, raised the next generation of Nigerians, and ensured that Nigeria regains its lost glory in education.  Students’ parents and other well-wishers were congratulated by the university’s president, who said they were overwhelmed by the words of congratulations Olarinde remarked that Aare Afe Babalola’s ambition of making ABUAD one of the world’s top 100 institutions is within reach with the help of all these factors.
