Upcoming WhatsApp Feature; Group Admins Will Now Be Able To Delete Members’ Messages

Being a WhatsApp administrator entails more than just wearing a snazzy badge next to your name and flaunting your muscles in front of your peers. An additional set of privileges is associated with the title, which facilitates controlling a group, such as the power to add and delete members at will; the ability to limit message access; and the ability to delegate administratorship to another individual, among other things. As the most recent upgrade demonstrates, WhatsApp will be giving them much greater authority in the future.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp 2.22.11.4 — which is now rolling out via the beta channel of the program — has a feature that allows administrators to delete other members’ messages for everyone in a group without notifying them. A new prompt is displayed when an administrator attempts to remove a message. The prompt explains the feature and also serves as a confirmation. It initially appeared in a beta update from December last year, but the newest beta throws a new prompt when an administrator attempts to delete a message. The entire project, however, is still in the development stage, which means it is not yet available to beta testers and is most likely undergoing internal testing.

Messages deleted by administrators will, of course, leave a trail in the form of a placeholder saying “You deleted this message.” This is similar to the behavior of other deletions.
However, although we can clearly see admins supporting this feature because it gives them more authority — and who doesn’t want that? – normal members may not be as enthusiastic. Although this is the case, its inclusion is definitely for the best because it will be quite useful for moderating, particularly in light of the chat service’s ability to accommodate considerably larger groups. Small personal groups may not have to deal with troublesome texts or spam on a regular basis like these new Communities, but no matter how big or small they are, this technology will be useful to the people in charge of them.

Also, as an example According to WABetaInfo, users will be able to see a contact’s status update right in the chat list or when searching for chats and messages in a future version. It’s explained in detail in the publication Chat cells open conversations, however status updates appear when the user clicks an individual person’s photo in their contact list to see their status update. People are sure to start checking their friends’ status updates after this new function is released. This functionality is currently being developed for WhatsApp Desktop, but WABetaInfo says it will be available for iOS and Android users in the near future as well.

The Status tab of WhatsApp will soon have rapid reactions. That would allow users to respond to a contact’s Stories with eight emojis. Both of these features are still in the works, and no date has been set for when they will be made available to the general public. In addition, WhatsApp just launched a slew of new features, including Reactions, group polls, audio calls with up to 32 people, and a new Community function.
