ASUU Announces Progress In Ongoing Meeting With FG

Here’s your strike update, it has been 109 days since the commencement of the strike.

Since last week, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) commenced negotiations with Prof. Nimi Briggs, the chairman of the the commitee set up by the Federal Government because of the ongoing strike action.

The negotiations have been reportedly progressive with ASUU expressing optimism in its report disclosed in a statement on Friday.

Recall that ASUU had refused the plea of the Federal Government to suspend the Ongoing strike action without its demand being met. See the complete article here

After 3 months from the date of inauguratiom, Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu said the committee is to review the Federal Government/ASUU agreement and submit the report.

Prof Osodeke stated that the meeting will continue to hold in private till they have their final results. Once they have that, they will make the result public.
