It was a black Sunday in ondo state, Owo precisely yesterday 5th June, 2022 when unknown gun men attacked St. Francis Catholic Church, owo, ondo state during her Pentecost service leaving many feared dead, many others injured & the church violated.
In a report gathered by the punch newspaper, it was stated that the devastating incident happened when the church finished it service.
The series of events that happened after this terrible incident includes numerous politicians sending condolences to the bereaved families on Twitter, Akeredolu visiting the scene after his return from Abuja, Tinubu donating ₦50m to treat victims of Owo attack and Another ₦25m to Catholic Church in Owo and promises by both the President, Muhammadu Buhari, and the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, to end and prevent further attacks in the country.

The incidence amongst many others has opened the eyes of Nigerians to the high rate of insecurity that has gotten even worse than ever before with no regards for human life.
On this same day, our President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, held a dinner banquet with APC chieftains as part of the continued consultations of the ruling party with stakeholders to elect a consensus candidate ahead of the party’s presidential primary elections this week. This was hours after the terrible incident.
The people who attended the dinner are Vice President,Yemi Osinbajo, the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, former Chairmen, Bisi Akande, John Oyegun, the party’s Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, and some APC Governors.
