OAU College Of Health Sciences Mourns Another Professor

About three-months ago, College of Health Sciences Obafemi Awolowo University mourned one of its senior lecturers, Professor AbdulRasheed Adesukanmi, who was a professor at the department of Surgery, faculty of clinical science, which is one of the three faculties that make up College of Health Sciences.

In the early hours of today (Tuesday, 14th day of June, 2022), College Of Health Sciences lost another Professor, in person of Professor Femi Soyinka, who was the former Provost of the College of Health Sciences. He was a Professor of Dermatology, Venereology and Clinical Immunology.

He is the younger brother of Professor Wole Soyinka, the 1986 Nobel laureate in Literature. In a family statement, Professor Soyinka died at 85 at his home in Kukumada Village, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Professor Femi Soyinka who has worked in the academic field for 30 years, there by holding various positions from Chief Medical Director to The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Provost of College of Health Sciences.

He was survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
