ASUU: Nigeria Labour Congress Announces Nationwide Protest

The Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) has announced to protest for the return of students of federal universities back to school after the 5 months long strike since the 14th of February.

The strike is to support the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) aim in achieving quality education for the students via the provision of all of their demands.

NLC has chosen Tuesday, 26th July 2022 and Wednesday, 27th July 2022 for the dates of protest and the venue was stated as all the State Capitals of the Federation and Abuja the Federal Capital Territory.

The protest is supposed to take off at NLC State Secretariats and the Labour House, Abuja.

The circular reads in part:

“In line with the decisions of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Nigeria Labour Congress held on the 30th of June 2022, we have scheduled as follows the National Days of Protest to get our children back to school and support our unions in Nigeria’s public universities fighting for quality education.”
