 Death may be inevitable but it’s quite sad when it comes soon. Many musicians have died during their vibrant and active careers. Most of their deaths were either from being shot, stabbed, suicide or overdose. Some became more famous after their death while the already famous ones were remembered in other ways. Here is a list of male musicians who died in their early 20s:

5) TUPAC SHAKUR

Tupac was an American rapper and actor. He was born on the 16th of July, 1971, and died on the 7th of September, 1996. He was murdered at the age of twenty-five. He was involved in several legal issues including rape, a shooting, and other criminal cases. Tupac was gunned down on the 7th of September but died six days after from internal bleeding and was cremated the next day. His murder case remains unsolved. His rap songs include; “I wonder if heaven got a ghetto”, “thugs get lonely too”, “dear mama”, “to live and die in LA”, “how long will they mourn me”, “how do you want it” and many more.

4) POP SMOKE

Bashar Barakah Jackson, popularly known as pop smoke was an American rapper. He was born on the 20th of July, 1999, and died on the 19th of February, 2020 after he was murdered in a home invasion. He died at the age of twenty from a gunshot to the torso. His murder was first suspected to be as a result of his involvement with a gang called “crip” but it was later reported as a robbery gone wrong after a 15- year- old, who was one of the intruders allegedly admitted to killing pop smoke over a diamond-studded Rolex. The intruders which involved three adult men and two minors were charged. Some of his rap songs include; “what you know bout love”, “got it on me”, “invincible”, “make it rain”, “Dior”, “welcome to the party” and so on.

3) AVICII

Tim Bergling, professionally known as Avicii was a Swedish DJ, music producer and remixer. He was born on the 8th of September, 1989 and died on the 20th of April, 2018 after committing suicide. He was twenty- eight years old when he died. His parents released an open letter about how he was a fragile soul that could no longer hold on and wanted to find peace. He was said to have committed suicide using a glass shard to cut himself. Some of his great songs include; “Seek bromance”, “silhouettes”, “levels”, “fade into darkness”, “wake me up”, “hey brother”, “street dancer” and so on.

2) JUICE WRLD

Jarad Anthony Higgins, known professionally as Juice wrld was born on the 2nd of December, 1998 and died on the 8th of December, 2019 after toxic levels of oxycodone and codeine was found in his system. Juice Wrld was only twenty-one years old when he died. He was an awesome rapper, singer and songwriter.  Juice wrld battled with depression and addiction which was easy to figure out based on his lyrics. He predicted his death in one of his songs and his song “Legends” was dedicated to XXXTentacion and Lil peep. Some of his songs that will never get old include; “Lucid dreams” “hear me calling”, “all girls are the same”, “come and go(with marshmello)”, “armed and dangerous”, “robbery” and many more.

1) XXXTENTACION

Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, professionally known as XXXTentacion was born on the 23rd of January, 1998 and died on the 18th of June, 2018 from being shot multiple times in the neck. He was a great rapper, songwriter and singer. He was only twenty years old when he died. He was considered to be the leading figure in the emo rap and SoundCloud rap genres while he was alive. He was considered to be a controversial figure in the hip-hop industry due to his public feuds with other artists. Some of his best songs include; “Numb”, “change on”, “I don’t wanna do this anymore”, “hope”, “hate will never win”, “riot”, “King of the dead” and many more.
