Top 10 Departments With the Highest Number of Second Class Upper

The mission of Obafemi Awolowo University is “To nurture a teaching and learning community; advance frontiers of knowledge; engender a sense of selfless public service; promote cultural adaptability and add value to African Culture”. The 46th convocation ceremony where degrees,  other academic titles, and distinctions were conferred was held between the 7th and 10th of December, 2022. There were a total of 130 first-class honorary degrees awarded (the highest degree attainable). In this article, we would be pacing through the top 10 departments with the highest number of Second Class (Honors) Upper Division (the second highest class of degree attainable). These students worked tirelessly and are proof that the university’s mission indeed affected their lives and academics.

10. Psychology – 41

The graduation of 41 students from the Department of Psychology at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) with second-class honors is indeed a thing of pride. These students have worked tirelessly over the past few years to achieve this impressive feat, and we are delighted to see them moving on to the next stage of their academic and professional careers.

As graduates of the Department of Psychology, these students have acquired a thorough understanding of the theories and principles of psychological research and practice. 9. Chemical Engineering – 43

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) recently celebrated the graduation of 43 students who earned second-class honors in their degree program.
