DSS Launches Investigation into Suspected Illegal Activity Involving four OAU Students, Including SU Social Director, Omo Alahaji

The Department of Student Services (DSS) at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has launched an investigation into suspected illegal activity involving four of it’s students, including the Social Director of the Students’ Union Omo Alahaji. This investigation has caused a stir on campus, as students and staff alike eagerly await the outcome. The suspected illegal activity indicate that it may involve violation of the school’s code of conduct. The outcome of the investigation could have significant implications for the future of the students involved, as well as the university as a whole. Below is a letter sent by the Division Of Student Affairs

SPECIAL RELEASE TO ALL STUDENTS

RE: STUDENTS’ JOINING ILLEGAL AND UNREGISTERED ASSOCIATIONS IN OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY CAMPUS

The Division of Student Affairs of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife wishes to inform all students that some group of students suspected as belonging to illegal and unregistered Associations capable of undermining peace and tranquility on OAU Campus, have been apprehended by the Security Department of the University and handed over to the State Security Agents for further investigation.

It should be noted that between 12 January and 20 January, 2023, three (3) suspected students
namely: Agbeja Ibukun, Ayinde Tosin and Nurudeen Bayo of the Department of Demography and Social Statistics, Biochemistry and Demography and Social Statistics respectively were invited and handed over to the Department of State Services for detailed investigation. On 27 January, 2023, one (1) more suspected student: Adegboye Olamilekan (Omo Alhaji) of the Institute of Education with matric number: IED/2017/004 was also invited and handed over to the Security Agents for further investigation activities.

The Division of Student Affairs wishes to inform the generality of Great Ife Students that the Security Department of the University is on top of the situation.

All students are therefore advised to go about their normal academic activities without fear or apprehension as adequate measures have been put in place to fully secure the lives and property of all and sundry within the university community.

In conclusion, the recent investigation launched by the DSS into suspected illegal activity involving these students, not excluding the Social Director, serves as a reminder of the importance of following the law and adhering to ethical principles. The outcome of the investigation will provide insight into the allegations and the steps that will be taken to address any wrongdoing.
