Nigeria Labour Congress Calls Off Strike, Gives Federal Government 7 Days Ultimatum.
The Nigeria Labour Congress has called off tomorrow’s strike in protest of the Naira scarcity that has gripped the country.
The pressure group announced earlier that their strike would begin tomorrow Wednesday 28th March 2023 and that the protest will be held at every branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria locations nationwide.
The National Executive Council announced the strike’s suspension at the conclusion of its meeting today.
However, the NLC has given the Federal Government seven days to fix the country’s fuel and currency scarcity.
Joe Ajaero, the union’s national president, said the CBN branch protest was necessary since neither the federal government nor the CBN had shown any willingness to address the issue.
