Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife is committed to ensuring the successful and seamless execution of the upcoming West Africa Universities Games (WAUG). They have already initiated the necessary steps to revamp the sporting facilities on the campus.
The 2023 edition of WAUG, scheduled to commence on December 16, 2023, will be hosted by the University. Universities from West Africa will converge to compete in sports such as Tennis, Table Tennis, Basketball, and Athletics.
The opening and closing ceremonies will have the esteemed presence of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as the special guest of honor. The games will conclude with the grand finale on December 22, 2023.
