JAMB Releases 2024 Results : 24.4% Pass, with 64,624 Results Withheld

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released the results of the candidates who sat for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Monday, the 29th of April, 2024.

The examination commenced on Friday, April 19, and concluded on Monday, April 29, 2024. Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, announced the release of the results at a press conference held at the Board’s headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, on Monday.

However, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede stated that the examination body had withheld the results of 64,624 candidates due to possible infractions, indicating that the board was conducting investigations on the withheld results.

According to a copy of his speech obtained from Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, he mentioned, “Out of a total of 1,989,668 registered candidates, 80,810 were absent. A total of 1,904,189 sat the UTME within the six days of the examination…”.

Alleged examination misconduct accounted for 78 cases. In terms of performance, JAMB reports that out of the released results, 0.4% scored above 300, while 24% scored 50% (200/400) and above. Specifically, 8,401 candidates scored 300 and above, 77,070 scored 250 and above, and 439,974 scored 200 and above, while 1,402,490 candidates scored below 200.

To check their UTME results, candidates are advised to text UTMERESULT to 55019/66019 using the phone numbers they registered with. There is no need to visit any CBT center or cybercafé for result checking. Upon sending the text, candidates with available results will receive a message, while those still under processing or absent will be notified accordingly.

Candidates under investigation will receive specific status updates, including

  • Verification Investigation
  • Under Investigation (A)
  • Under Investigation (B)
  • Alleged Infraction.
