The entertainment industry is taking over the world, we can equally say most gen z’s are into one of form entertainment or the other, OAU Is no exception, Obafemi Awolowo University is best known for producing the most talented individual across different industries with influential acts from the music industry like Fireboy, Fave, Chinko Ekun, Bayanni, Blaqbonez, Jaido P, Cheque and many more. One thing is common, many of these A-list acts started from school, I bring to you the top 5 most promising musicians here in OAU that you should look out for…

6. Asojaid

SEUN ADEBANJO known by his stage name asojaid_tha_loverman is a part three student of the department with the most beautiful girls in OAU, English Language. I believe you can clearly see why he decided to be “the lover man”.

Born on the 17th of May, he started his music career officially back in 2015 and has released series of amazing Songs. He released his first single “TITO” in 2020 and ” Come N Do” in September 2021. He further released a collaboration with a J boy titled “Dimension” on 18th February 2022 and later shot a music video in March of the same year. His most recent release  “Grind” is currently making waves.

5. Drizzy

AKINREMI EMMANUEL is a part two student of the department of microbiology, he is a singer and songwriter born on the 4th of April. He started building his music career by making covers.

Earlier this year, he released a song featuring virus da viper titled “Go Dey”, he was opportune to perform the song live at the amphitheater alongside virus in the show “PartyNextDoor” .

4. Haywhy Virtuoso

Haywhy from the department of soil science, land, and management (SLM). ADEBIMPE ISRAEL AYOADE is a part 2 student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Born May 18. The hot boy summer doesn’t only sing but also plays the guitar. Ayo is popularly known for his duets and covers. In 2021, he released his debut single, “lovers in the night.” After this, he released another single titled “Suicide” in response to a student in OAU making a suicide attempt. Since then, he has worked with x law on the song “mechanoid,” which was released at the beginning of the year 2022. He then released MTB (meant to be) that same year.

3. Cosy

Aponjolosun Oreoluwa Juliana who goes by the stage name “cozy”  is a dramatic art student born on 28th September. She started her career by recording and posting song covers of popular artists like Davido(jowo), Adekunle Gold(sinner) on her social media platform. She released her first single “Duro” in August 2021 and ever since then has performed her song in a few shows for different departments as well. She performed live at comedy night anchored by ayosantos.

2. Ewa

Adefioye Solomon Adelanaire Ewaoluwa, who was born on July 22, is a dramatic arts part-three student. The Don Crucifixion artiste In June 2021 released his first studio album themed “Life, Love, Self-worth (LLSW)”, which contained seven songs, with the most popular single being “Abeg.”

On July 9, he released a music video for “Abeg.”

“Dey for you,” his debut single, was released in 2020 and played on hip-hop television (Hip TV) on several occasions.

He was awarded the “best artist of the year”  in the FASA OAU award. He has also performed on numerous big occasions, including “wizkid live in Warri,” “live Seun Kuti,” and “partynextdoor” (all on February 27, 2022). (December 20, 2021).

He was also named the OAUCDL 16/17’s best male vocalist.

His newest single, ” mini animal”, was released Nov 18 of this year and there has been a going challenge for the song.

Olayanju Ayomikun Uchechi popularly known by her stage name Cherimoya is a student of the Department of Music, born on the 15th of April.

She released her first single “Bamidele”, in 2020 after dropping a lot of song covers, especially that of Fireboy DML. Of course, the YBNL star has engaged her post quite a number of times. She did take a long break from music due to personal reasons and later released “Gratitude” in the latter part of 2021. She won the OAU’s next rated in 2019.

she has recently performed in numerous acapella renditions of well-known songs, like “Overdose”. Her music is available on every platform.

As stated on her page, she has a new song coming out soon.
